More Than Just a Picture in a Box
My own journey into framing started with photography. Back in 2000, I completed a course in the Art of Colour Photography and Negative/Positive Colour Printing — and I quickly became just as fascinated by how images were presented as by how they were made.
I began framing my own photographs and canvas prints, and one thing led to another. Having picked up carpentry and woodworking from my father, I already had a soft spot for working with timber and building things by hand. Pairing that with my love of photography felt like the most natural thing in the world.
From there, I took things further with an intensive Picture Framing for Beginners and Improvers course at RHACC, which built on my existing woodworking skills and gave me a much deeper understanding of professional framing techniques, materials and presentation. What started as a personal hobby soon grew into framing for family and friends, canvas prints, and bespoke photo books for special occasions.
For me, framing was never just about slotting an image into a frame and calling it done. It's about creating a finished piece — one that complements the artwork, brings out its character, and gives it the presentation it truly deserves.
"There's something genuinely rewarding about watching a photograph, painting or print come alive once it's paired with the right frame, mount and finish. It's a bit like watching a story finally get told properly."

Absolutely — in fact, our framing philosophy is built around occasions. We regularly frame wedding moments (ceremony photos, first dance, vows, wedding invitations, and bouquets), family portraits & newborn milestones, pet memorials, travel landscapes, and milestone anniversary gifts.
A beautiful bevelled mount separates the photograph from the glass and provides visual border space, transforming an ordinary 10×8 print into a much more premium, gallery-calibre centerpiece.
Yes. Every frame is completely assembled by hand, sealed against dust and moisture, and fitted with hanging wire or cord, wall fixings, and protective wall bumpers.
